Choosing a Bed
Size
Size is an important thing to keep in mind while shopping. Who will be sleeping on the bed? How much room do they need? How large is the room the bed will be in? You'll need to find the best balance between the space available for the bed and the amount of room each person sleeping will need. For a master bedroom you'll want the bed to be the focus of the room, so a larger bed will fit the space better. However in a guest room you might want to consider a daybed, that way it can be functional both as a bed and a seating area for your guests.
Design
When shopping for your bed, keep in mind the design and style of your bedroom. Whether you're looking to just update your current room or do a whole new design, a bed can be used as the center piece of the room. You don't have to be an interior designer to make your room look great. Start with a color or theme you like. For a contemporary look, try a bed with clean lines and simple designs. Or try a romantic theme by using a large ornate canopy bed. The limit to what you can do is your imagination.
Type
There are many types of beds available depending on the design and size you're looking to achieve. For example, platform beds are great for modern rooms and daybeds offer versatility to any design. You might also want to consider looking at specific materials for your bed. Wood, brass and other metals each have their own personality and can add that special touch to your room.
