The Fresno Bed captures the spirit of the Arts & Crafts style, if not the color scheme. While natural wood tone was the mantra of the movement, painted finishes, like the Ebony used on this bed, gives the Fresno contemporary flair. Another bed that reveals itself upon closer examination, the top rail of the footboard starts three inches wide at the edges and expands to seven inches in the middle, with the curved Pewter (brushed nickel plate) grill curving along underneath. The headboard is 52 1/2" high while the footboard is 30". This is another bed that has the beefy hand-hewn feel to it, purposely designed to counterpose the ornate Victorian effusiveness, which preceded this new design school.
