The Sealy 10 Point Scale: It's Easy to Use
Sealy mattresses are categorized based on our 10-point Comfort Scale®. It's important
to understand the difference between support and comfort
, as the comfort of a mattress is unrelated to the support your body receives from the inner structure.
1: The Firmest Mattresses
A Sealy mattress with a rating of 1 is designed for sleepers who are looking for the firmest mattress possible. If you enjoy a rigid feeling of support with very little cushioning, then a Sealy with a rating of 1 is a good idea for you.
2 to 4: Firm to Medium-Firm
If you have no problem sleeping comfortably on your living room floor, and you don't wake up with aches and pains, then a Sealy with a Comfort Scale rating of 2 would be ideal for you. If you enjoy a firm overall feel with some cushioning for a softer initial impact, then you'll feel most satisfied on a Sealy with a rating of 3 or 4.
4.5 to 6.5: Mid-Range, a Good Compromise
Sealy Mattresses in this category are great if you are in between the other comfort ratings, or if your partner and you prefer opposite ends of the Comfort Scale. Mattresses in this range are a great compromise for couples with varying comfort preferences. If you just don't have a preference, then a Comfort Scale rating of 4.5 to 6.5 is a good choice for you.
7 to 9: Conforming Softness
Do you find yourself trying to increase the softness of your current mattress with a down feather mattress pad? Do you love the way a waterbed feels? If so, you'll find the most satisfaction in a Sealy mattress with a Comfort Scale rating of 7 to 9. These beds are very soft. They are usually pillow tops, but some plush mattresses fall in this category as well.
10: Super Soft
A Sealy mattress with a rating of 10 is designed for sleepers who really enjoy sinking into a mattress. If you're looking for the softest Sealy you can find, shop for models with this rating.
