As a part of the Beautyrest World Class Series you get a 980 coil density and foam encasement. The Lusaka Plush Firm is rated a 6 on our comfort scale so it feels soft at first. However, you can definitely feel the support under the soft comfort materials.
If you are looking to get into a mattress that you can feel the support in but that has a little softness to it, the Lusaka Plush Firm is a great choice. Not only does the Lusaka Plush Firm have a 980 coil density, it also has a 3" foam encasement that surrounds the innerspring for an extended sleeping surface and added durability. The Lusaka Plush Firm also has memory foam. Memory foam not only lessens motion and eases pressure points, it also is a more durable foam that will keep its comfort longer than other foams
I would not hesitate to recommend this mattress. It has a very nice feel and should hold its comfort for about 10 years. The Lusaka Plush Firm has a motion separation index of a 2 which means it is a little better than the Beautyrest classic series at separating motion. In other words you will not feel your partner moving around as much during the night so you get a better quality of sleep. The more you feel your partner at night the more you toss and turn or vice versa. Reviewed by: GBD (Orange County, CA) Review: Of all the things in the world to buy without a testrun, I would say a mattress is at the top of the list. However, my husband and I both work, have two young kids and were in the process of moving so we needed to buy something quickly. I read the descriptions and decided to go with the Lusaka Visco Plush-Firm based which seemed to fit our requirements (at least in print!) To my utter delight, this is, by far, the most comfortable mattress I've slept on. It's firm enough to give proper back support yet plush enough to give you that 'sinking in' feeling that is so comforting after a long day. Another plus is that I can't feel my husband tossing and turning during the night- the movement seems isolated. I would highly recommend this product to all who are interested. |

Our last mattress was also a Simmons and we loved it for nearly 14 years. We were hoping that this one would be as satisfying and it is. Make no mistake; this is a very "firm"mattress. We have found that a firm mattress makes for a better night's sleep for many years. We do use a foam mattress topper for added softness, but our thinking is that you can always make a mattress softer but you can't make if firmer. The most outstanding feature about this mattress (and Simmons mattresses in general) is the "Separation"factor that it offers. In the time we have had this mattress, we have never felt the other's movement. As for US Mattress, the purchasing experience was first class. The staff was knowledgeable and kept very good records of all communications. The delivery was prompt and professional. My suggestion is that you shop your local mattress dealers, find what you like, and give US Mattress a call. I can almost guarantee that they will beat any price. |

I tested it for a couple of nights and came to the conclusion that I should have purchased a king set for the master bedroom and moved the old bed to the guest room. I loved it and now I'm trying to justify another one. I have had my share of medical problems (back surgery and hip replacement), and this bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Don't hesitate to purchase this mattress without trying it out. US Mattress.com couldn't have been better to deal with and the prices are wonderful. |

Since each store uses different style names for essentially the same product I emailed usmattress. They quickly responded with this model being their version to the one we had seen in the stores. At $500 less there wasn't much to think about! The mattress is amazing, so supportive and my husband's tossing and turning doesn't wake me. It's been a week now and I have woken up each day feeling so well rested even on few hours of sleep. This is a firm mattress with a layer of memory foam on top. My husband wanted firm and I wanted firm with some softness cradling my body ... this was a perfect fit. Once you lie down you won't want to move! Delivery was great...will shop again. |

I have woken up with lower back pain since. I have researched it on line and it states thats one of the pressure points when sleeping on a bed that's too firm. When I placed the order I expected a comfort level of 6 to and a name like plush-firm to be just that, it isn't. I was looking to buy a firm mattress for me and a softer mattress for my husband. I thought that this would be a great compromise, but it's not. This mattress is very firm. I now have to go out and buy a mattress topper and I just spent $1300.00 plus dollars on this mattress. I am disappointed in the description that tUS-Mattress uses. Purchasing through this website was easy and customer support when I called concerning shipment time was excellent. The 'white glove' delivery, the guys were polite and respectful, but lacking in ambition. Very disappointed in the bed. I purchased a mattress topper in hopes of that making a difference. The cost too return the bed and have another one delivered and this one picked up is somewhat less than the topper, but not worth the risk of what I would be getting for a bed. Beware of firmness if you are looking for a soft or semi-soft mattress this isn't it. |

(La Jolla, CA)Review: I bought the Simmons Lusaka plush-firm with high expectations, having owned two prior Simmons Beautyrest queen-sized beds in the past with great satisfaction. Decided to go with something a bit less firm this time, as I am a side sleeper. Also decided to splurge on the upper-level model, rather than entry level. Unfortunately, this bed did not work out. It is very soft-- too soft. Within one month, I noticed significant body impressions in the center of the mattress. I am 6 feet tall and weigh 240, with lots of muscle. This bed does not support my lower back. I find myself sleeping on one side or the other, avoiding the center. I wake up with the need to stretch my lower back. That is unacceptable for a mattress with such a high coil count and such a good manufacturer. I have concluded there is simply too much soft foam in this mattress. Have opted for the one-time comfort exchange. Since US Mattress carries so few options in Simmons at this price, my only option was the ultra-firm Lusaka, unless I wanted to take a much less expensive bed. So, I chose the Sealy Posturpedic Signature Greenhurst firm model that is equal in value but not as drastic a change. Looking forward to that, hope it works out. It has less of the softer padding layers that this bed, and could not be worse... The people who work for this company are outstanding-- they keep their word, are patient with questions, and make the process easy. Have no complaints about the buying experience, the timely delivery, or any of that. Hope the new bed works out. Good luck, and study the 'what's in this mattress' section to know what you're getting into. |
