Durable yet soft foams designed for maximum comfort and support.Expert Review By Tony The Monrovia Plush is a good mattress but it is very similar to the Lusaka Plush. Both are a member of the Simmons Beautyrest World Class line but the Monrovia Plush has Latex Foam and the Lusaka Plush has Memory foam. They have a very comparable feel with the Lusaka Plush being a 7.5 and the Monrovia Plush being a 7 on our comfort scale. In my opinion, the Lusaka is a better value.
The Monrovia Plush is not a bad mattress set and could work well for someone looking for a touch harder feel than the Lusaka Plush. With its 980 coil density and foam incased innerspring, the Monrovia Plush is a good supportive and durable mattress. By adding latex foam to the mix, it gives the mattress a nice feel and helps to reduce pressure points. Simmons is great for reducing motion because the use an individually wrapped coil system that minimizes motion transfer and eases pressure points. By minimizing motion transfer you will not feel your partner moving in bed as much throughout the night.
If the Monrovia Plush interests you, I would highly recommend looking into the Lusaka Plush. The Lusaka Plush has a similar feel and is just about as durable. The reason I would recommend the Lusaka Plush over the Monrovia Plush is because it is a better value. Always remember that your comfort is the most important thing when buying a new mattress and if you believe you will sleep better on a mattress that is a little harder than the Lusaka Plush then by all means the Monrovia would be a better buy. You will sink slightly into the mattress but hey it a plush one what do you expect. If you don't want to use a step stool to get into bed, I suggest selecting the low profile foundation. So when I needed to get a new bed I tried to find the same one. The mattress manufacturers apparently change the mattress names constantly, so finding the exact one was impossible to do. I tried various brands out and settled on Simmons as by far the best. Of those I tried, this one seemed to be a reasonably close match, so I decided to give it a try. Let me make this perfectly clear: this is the BEST mattress I've ever slept on! It is like being in heaven. It's not too soft, it has perfect support, and from the moment I fist laid on it I didn't ever want to get up. It's absolutely fantastic. Ordering from the web site was painless and I received the mattress in a couple of weeks without any problems (I never did get an email confirmation though...). If you're thinking about this mattress, think no more, just get it! |

| Rating: Summary: Simmons Latex Plush mattress Reviewed by: Photographer  (Chicago IL)Review: I was looking for a new mattress because my old mattress was worn out with huge body indentations. It was this horrible stearns and foster which was only about 2 years old. So I bought the Simmons World Class Monorovia Latex Plush from a store in chicago. I wanted a firm bed with a layer of cushion to relieve stress on my shoulders. I'm a 80% side sleeper and 20% back. I have chronic shoulder and neck problems so after extensive research over 5-6 weeks I was told that I needed a firm bed that must have some cushioning. This mattress didnt work for me. Its TOO SOFT. After breaking it in over a period of 2 weeks it became too soft. It's like sleeping on a rubber ball. Really not my style. I returned it for a Simmons classic Plush firm mattress (Lower class of simmons). It has 13 gauge so its firmer with a layer of cushion. I've only used it for 2 nights and i LOVE it. I'll review that mattress in a few weeks. I paired it with a temperpedic symphony pillow (for side sleepers) FYI - when you buy a mattress find out the following 1) Return AND exchange policy. 2) Charges for exchange 3) Can you exchange for a lower priced mattress? Will u get a refund for the balance? 4) No questions asked returns? Hope this helps. Finding the right mattress is a tough process. Ask the sales man to leave u for 10-15 mins while u lay on the mattress. Dont let the 'sell' it to you. |
