Comfort Scale Rating

The Sierra Sleep Hybrid 1400 Ultra Plush mattress has a soft, luxurious feel; we rate it an 8 on our 10 point Comfort Scale (a 1 is hard, 10 is softest).   This mattress will appeal to you only if you like a softer bed.  If you like anything firmer than that you can consider a different Sierra Sleep model.

Pressure Test Results

We've pressure tested the Hybrid 1400 Ultra Plush mattress using some models with petite, average, and large-sized bodies for a good representation of the majority of people (Learn how we test.)  We had our models lay on the bed in their side and back sleeping positions which represent the sleeping positions most people use themselves.

This mattress performed extremely well during our pressure testing, earning a 'recommended' score for all body sizes and sleep positions.  To understand how the mattress earned these scores please look at the images below.  Any areas that are green on the body show proper support and pressure relief.  Yellow areas indicate an increase in pressure though not so much that this bed would be deemed uncomfortable.  Red areas, which you'll notice are completely absent from these images, show where there would be an excess of pressure.  These images show you that there are outstanding pressure relief and exceptional support for your body regardless of your size or preferred sleeping position. 

Correct support for your back is very important for quality sleep because proper spinal alignment means the difference between restful sleep where you wake refreshed and energized or your lower back is tight and painful and you're grumpy for the rest of the day.  Pressure relief for your joints is just as important because too much pressure on your joints causes discomfort leading to tossing and turning to relieve that pressure which wakes you up.  Everyone knows that disturbed sleep is a terrible night's sleep.  The good news for the Hybrid 1400 Ultra Plush is that it gives you excellent pressure relief and conforming support.
