The Four Seasons Back Supporter mattress line is one of several collections from Spring Air:
Spring Air Four Seasons Back Supporter mattresses are innerspring mattresses with zoned coil systems.
Spring Air Four Seasons Back Supporter mattresses use center zoning in the coil design for added back support. A variety of memory foam, latex, and other quality foams are used in these mattresses to provide pressure relief and comfort. The main coil design in this collection is the zoned individually encased coils, which provide support and pressure relief by contouring to the body.
Several of these mattresses are double-sided and meant to be flipped seasonally. These models are made so the quilt on one side is designed to cool and is woven with silk antimicrobial fibers. On the other side of the mattress, the quilt is woven with wool antimicrobial fibers for more warmth.

Center Zoning |
Center zoning means that there's extra support in the center third of the bed. This is very helpful to those dealing with back pain, as it provides proper back support and keeps the spine aligned. Most of the models use an individually-encased coil design, which contours to your body and decreases motion transfer. Those with tied coils will have very good support, as all the coils share the load. |
Antimicrobial Fibers |
Antimicrobial fibers promote a healthier sleep environment because they are resistant to mold, mildew and dust mites. This can extend the freshness of your mattress and lengthen its life while decreasing the time spent cleaning it. Many of the models in this collection use antimicrobial fibers that are fire resistant as an added safety feature. |
Latex Foam |
Latex foam is a quality material that is antimicrobial and anti-dust mite, so it promotes a healthier sleeping environment. It's quite durable, so it's long-lasting and will increase the comfort life of your mattress. Latex is springy and great at pressure relief, which will reduce the tossing and turning caused by pressure on pain points. |
Spring Air Four Seasons Back Supporter mattresses are sold in several stores and through online retailers. An in-home team will deliver your new mattress for free. In-home setup and removal of your old mattress are additional options available.
Spring Air originated many mattress designs and features now used by leading competitors. Francis Karr, the founder, came up with the free-end double offset coil design. This design uses progressive resistance, which adjusts to meet each sleeper’s comfort needs. This became the most copied design in the industry and was only the beginning of how they would shake things up.
Spring Air started the trend of using a quilted surface, rather than a button-top. In the '50s, they introduced the Health Center mattress. It was the first design with separate support zones for different areas of the body. Spring Air also introduced the pillow top mattress in 1973, which has become a staple feature. Another change started by Spring Air is making one-sided mattresses. This was significant, as they could make mattresses with more comfort for less cost.
Spring Air is a global brand, with 8 domestic factories and 35 international licensees. They operate in 43 countries around the world.
Spring Air Four Seasons Back Supporter mattresses are found to be very supportive mattresses for those with back pain issues. The antimicrobial fibers and latex used will contribute to a healthy sleeping environment. These mattresses have good edge support. The individually encased coil system used in most of the models provides good back support, contours to the body for pressure relief, and decreases motion transfer.
An interesting feature that is found on several models in this collection is the flippable seasonal design. One side of the mattress quilt is designed for sleeping cooler during hot months and the other side has wool to keep you warmer during the cold months. The other benefit of these double-sided mattresses is that wearing on both sides evenly increases the comfort life.
There is a good variety of price points, features and comfort levels making it easy to find the right mattress for each sleeping style.
