The TEMPUR-Cloud Luxe Breeze is a super soft mattress that’s rated well for most sleepers in our testing (see the details below.) It’s the top model in the Cloud Collection, and it also includes the extra cooling Breeze feature – that comes with the $1,000 upcharge.

Comfort Scale Rating

The Cloud Luxe Breeze mattress has a softer feeling; we rate it 7 on our 10 point Comfort Scale (a 1 is hard, 10 is softest.)

Pros & Cons

  • Premium Tempur ES and HD quality foams and materials
  • SmartClimate feature to help keep the bed cooler
  • Minimal motion transfer
  • Removable washable cover
  • Highly rated in customer reviews
  • Trusted brand - durable products with long track record
  • Expensive at $4,799 for a queen size, and $5,499 king size (just mattress price)
  • Soft feeling, so it’s only for people who like soft mattresses
  • Can take a couple weeks for the foam to break in and it can also take some days for the foam smell to dissipate

Pressure Test Results

We’ve pressure tested the Cloud Luxe Breeze mattress with different body sizes and sleeping positions to see what kind of support and comfort you can expect. (Learn how we test.) It tested well, rating “Good” for all body types and sleeping positions. Although we didn’t rate it “Recommend” from our testing, we wouldn’t discourage you from choosing it. We like to see weight that’s spread into the legs for more support there, but in this case, because it’s such a soft mattress, it probably explains why the weight is more in the back. Even though that’s how it is, the weight on the back is still distributed well with very little excess pressure.

  2. B. Comfort Layer

The Luxe Breeze infuses PureCool material into soft TEMPUR-ES material to draw excess heat out and keep the bed feeling cool.

  3. C. Support Layer

The support layer is made of TEMPUR Climate material to help spread your weight across the mattress and it also has the property to help pull heat away.

  4. D. Base Layer

More about Tempur-Pedic

Tempur-Pedic created the memory foam mattress category here in the U.S. Founded in 1992, they continually grew until they became a household name and large enough to buy the Sealy Mattress Company. They’re now a public company called Tempur-Sealy and sell mattresses worldwide.

There are 2 important points of differentiation vs other foam mattresses. First, Tempur-Pedic actually designs and manufactures their foam components and mattresses. This speaks to their degree of expertise (most foam mattress brands buy components from suppliers).

Secondly, Tempur-Pedic has always created premium products. As in any industry, there are companies that make cheaper priced, lower quality products, and those that make higher quality, higher priced products. Tempur-Pedic has always made higher quality mattresses using premium materials and manufacturing standards. The success of their mattresses, and long running reputation for quality, propelled their company to be the largest in the world.

The Cloud Luxe Breeze is the top of the line bed in the Cloud Collection. It also comes with a $1,000 premium over the non-Breeze model costing $4,799 in queen size and $5,499 in king (just for the mattress without the foundation or base.) The contouring and support is really good for back sleepers and reasonably good for side sleepers. The bed excelled in our pressure mapping testing with back sleepers. The added Breeze cooling features mitigate the typical heat complaints some people have with memory foam beds. It’s an expensive mattress but one that does deliver on the expectations at that price, especially for back sleepers.
