The Benefits of Having an Adjustable Base

An adjustable base offers you more than added luxury and opulent bedding features. The health benefits of using an adjustable base as part of your overall bed are many. Those who suffer from conditions such as Arthritis, sleep apnea, joint pain, and acid reflux can reduce their symptoms while sleeping when utilizing an adjustable base. The Beautyrest Motion Air is a good example of how having your legs and upper torso lifted to a higher angle than flat can help those issues. Not only do adjustable bases help with these conditions but they can increase the comfort that you get from your mattress. A raised torso can feel much more comfortable for those who are bed-bound, or anyone who enjoys relaxing in bed without sleeping.

More about Beautyrest

If you're wondering who makes Beautyrest mattresses, that would be the Simmons Mattress Company. They've been a leader in mattress manufacturing for over 100 years. Their Beautyrest flagship brand has been a household name for many decades. Many people remember the commercial where a bowling ball was dropped on a mattress to highlight their pocketed coils (a glass of wine would sit undisturbed when the ball bounced on the other side of the bed.)

In recent years Simmons merged with Serta into the Serta Simmons Bedding Company, making them one of the two largest mattress companies in the world (Tempur-Sealy is the other.) Simmons now markets the Black, Harmony Lux, and Silver mattress collections. As a large manufacturer, Simmons engineers and makes many of its own components. With their longevity and size, they have accumulated a lot of experience and knowledge making mattresses. Simmons makes millions of mattresses each year and they’ve maintained a positive reputation over the long run.

While some review sites call out consumer complaints, they fail to provide the full context. There are tens of millions of customers sleeping on Beautyrest mattresses. Altogether, Simmons Beautyrest has a highly positive customer reputation.

Conclusion

If you're a first-time buyer of an adjustable base the Motion Air is a great choice as your first adjustable base. You save a significant amount of money when compared to higher-end models, over $1,000 compared to the Beautyrest Black Luxury Motion Base. This is nice because you're not committing a large amount of money to something that you might not like in the end.

The Beautyrest Motion Air offers head and foot lift functionality, like most other bases. Having a wireless remote for a base at the low-end of the collection is rare, usually, they come hard-wired to the base so that's another nice feature. The ultra-slim profile is nice aesthetically, you can pretty much "hide" the base from view. Another interesting feature is the 10-year Limited Warranty, most bases similar to this model's construction only offer a one-year warranty. That fact should tell you that the manufacturer stands behind this base for its ability to serve your sleep needs for a long time to come.

My suggestion is that you either buy this base as one to try out adjustable base features or to save money over the higher-end models. If you are a seasoned adjustable base user/owner then you'll know that you can get more premium features in another model. That said, this adjustable base is far more impressive for an entry-level model than others that I've seen in the past.
