2001 – Founded with 4 employees
2003 – First retail location opens in Plymouth, MI
2005 – Team grows to 20 employees
2008 – Commerce, MI store opens (40 employees)
2009 – Launch charitable partnership with MHS
2010 – Reaches 75 employees
2011 – Launch of PartySuppliesDelivered.com
2012 – Acquire CarolinaRustica.com; become Google Trusted Store
2014 – Store opens in Birmingham, MI
2015 – Bloomfield Hills, MI store opens; 90+ employees; $300K+ raised for MHS
2016 – Honored as “Retail Giant of Bedding” by Furniture Today
2017 – Stores open in Ann Arbor & Rochester, MI; begin offering Naturals by US‑Mattress
2018 – Launch Joybed natural “bed-in-a-box”
2020 – Release Sapphire Dream affordable‑luxury collection; opened multiple MI locations (Howell, Southgate, Troy, Ferndale, Canton, Utica, Washington, Novi)
– Second warehouse opens
– 20th anniversary celebrated
– Launch Renew by US‑Mattress collection
– New showroom opens in Livonia, MI
2021 – MI stores open in Flint, Waterford, Roseville, West Bloomfield, Lapeer, Allen Park, Lake Orion, second Troy location, Chesterfield
2022 – New stores in Rochester and Brighton, MI

In 2023, American Mattress acquired US‑Mattress, adding 20 Michigan locations to its footprint and integrating our e-commerce strength into its nationwide presence.

Although our retail stores transitioned to the American Mattress banner, US‑Mattress.com remains the same—your dedicated online source for trusted mattress advice and quality sleep products.
