Tempur-Pedic LuxeAdapt Mattress Reviews

The Tempur-Pedic LuxeAdapt Series has two mattresses. One feels firm and the other is soft. Both models are all-foam and provide increased features (and pricing) over the very popular PRO ADAPT Series.

Type of Construction

Both of the models, the LuxeAdapt Soft and the LuxeAdapt Firm, are made of all-foam and feature Tempur-Pedic’s enhanced Tempur-APR+ material (Advanced Pressure Relief Plus).

TempurPedic’s LuxeAdapt Series - An Overview

The LuxeAdapt mattresses have the all-new Advanced Pressure Relief Plus (Tempur-APR+) material. This serves as the primary comfort memory foam layer. The APR+ foam provides increased performance over their existing materials. It improves body adapting comfort and reduces partner motion. To better explain the premium nature of the APR+ material, the "+" symbol is used, and the ProAdapt Series use Tempur-APR material (with no “+” designation).

In addition, the LuxeAdapt beds have the premium SmartClimate Dual Cover System. The cover is made of heavy weight yarn and delivers a cool-to-the-touch sensation when you touch the cover. The cooling effect isn’t from nasty added chemicals; it actually comes from the physical properties of the heavy wool itself. It’s also removable and washable, making it very practical.

These mattresses are 13” tall reflecting the increased amounts of Tempur-APR+ materials. Truly designed for the premium market, the mattresses are $3,999 (queen-size). With both a firmer and a softer model, you can select the comfort you like if you want to spend top dollar for a premium model.

Photo comparison of Original Tempur material, Tempur APR, and Tempur APR+

The new TempurAPR+ material is a recent innovation from Tempur-Pedic. The material is designed to further increase the mattress’s ability to conform and adapt to your body’s curves. It also reduces the motion you would feel if your sleeping partner moves. Both these enhancements improve key factors that are important to your sleep.

Delivery Method

Tempur-Pedic mattresses are sold in stores, online and also directly from Tempur-Pedic. They’re heavy mattresses usually delivered by a retailer’s delivery team. In-home delivery is free, and so is the removal of your old mattress.

More about Tempur-Pedic Brand

Tempur-Pedic created the memory foam mattress category here in the U.S. Founded in 1992, they grew and grew until they became a household name and got large enough to buy the Sealy Mattress Company. They’re now a public company called Tempur-Sealy and sell mattresses worldwide.

There are two important points of differentiation vs other foam mattresses. First, Tempur-Pedic actually designs and manufactures their foam components and mattresses. This speaks to their degree of expertise (most foam mattress brands buy components from suppliers).

Secondly, Tempur-Pedic has always created premium products. As in any industry, there are companies that make cheaply-priced, lower-quality products. Then there are those that make higher-quality, higher-priced products. Tempur-Pedic has always made high-quality mattresses using premium materials and manufacturing standards. The success of their mattresses and reputation for quality propelled their company to be the largest in the world.

Conclusion

Tempur-Pedic LuxeAdapt Series mattresses will appeal to most sleepers since they’re available in a firm or a soft comfort.

Both mattresses use Tempur-Pedic’s latest TEMPUR-APR+ material. And both beds have extra amounts of foam so they’re taller and more luxurious compared to the ProAdapt Series beds. In fact, LuxeAdapt beds have 20% more TEMPUR material and are 30% more conforming vs ProAdapt beds. It's understandable why Tempur charges more for these beds, as you know you're getting more for a higher price.

These two mattresses are $3,999 (queen-size) and so they’re pretty expensive by any standard, even for a Tempur-Pedic. We found both that mattresses performed excellent in our testing. Both distributed weight and therefore created minimal pressure points under various body sizes and sleeping positions. In addition, they also provided proper back support. Based on our testing, and the feature value, we recommend them for purchase by those willing to pay a premium price. Of course, not everybody can or will want to spend the extra money on these beds. But if you are so inclined, they are worth the money.
