Type of Construction

As with all Stearns & Foster mattresses, the Estate Collection has a robust innerspring coil at its core. Given they’ve been making mattresses since 1846 and are therefore a luxury brand it’s not surprising they still leverage their legacy innerspring construction. The Estate Collection has models in various comforts from Ultra Firm to a super comfy Luxury Plush Euro Pillow Top.

Estate mattresses include premium materials like cashmere infused quilts, super soft and breathable PrimaCool Performance Fabric with TENCEL, and a sophisticated designed IntelliCoil Advanced coil system which really reduces sleeping partner motion transfer.

1. A. Prima Cool Performance Fabric with TENCEL

   The mattress cover has a rich feel and is smooth to your touch. It’s also a stretchable fabric. It is made with TENCEL which is a fabric component to help air flow and moisture wicking both of which help you sleep better.

2. B. Advanced Adapt Foam

   The Level 2 Estate beds, called the Bella Claire models, have Advanced Adapt Foam in the comfort and padding layers. This foam achieves a combination of benefits to provide conforming support like memory foam with some bounce back. This means when you are sleeping the mattress conforms to your body for a more cushioned support, but will also allow you to move around more easily. Traditional memory foam can leave you stuck in a hole where you’ve been laying. Advanced Adapt Foam overcomes that problem.

3. C. PrimaSense Gel Foam

   PrimaSense Gel Foam is another premium foam material in the comfort layers. Gel foam is more commonly used in many mattresses today. In addition to the conforming property like memory foam, PrimaSense also helps to cool the sleep surface by pulling heat away. In combination, these properties help you nestle into a cradled sleeping position and also help to keep you from getting too hot.

   The coil-in-coil design used in the IntelliCoil Advanced Innerspring Coil system is an advanced type of pocketed coil found in other mattresses. This design utilizes a longer coil on the outside of the coil which flexes more and helps to contour to your body. The shorter, thicker coil inside the longer, outer coil provides the support for your body. Together, they conform and support your body, and they also have the additional benefit of more effectively reducing motion transfer.

   As in every Stearns & Foster mattress, the Estate models have what they call Precision Edge support. This edge support does what all edge support designs do; provide a stable edge to sit on, and to make the entire mattress sleep-able without rolling of the edge of the bed. But Precision Edge does this job even better by also providing a uniform feel up to the edge of the bed, so your entire bed feels the same from end to end. The vents help air move in and out, along with moisture, to help keep the bed cool and fresh.
