Tempur-Ergo Extend with Tempurpedic Mattresses

It's important to know that the Tempur-Ergo Extend is a high-end luxury power base. Any time you think about a luxury product you automatically assume that it's going to be a pricey item.  You'll also assume that the highest quality materials are used and that it comes with all the bells and whistles. These added features can make it even easier for people who spend most of their time in bed to live their lives in better comfort. More on the Tempur Ergo Extend Smart Features

Wireless Remote Control

Tempur Ergo Wireless Remote

The wireless remote for the Tempur Ergo Extend Adjustable Base comes with several luxury features.  Here they are from the top of the remote to the bottom:

  • Four-zone massage with varying intensities for the head and foot portions of the bed.
  • On the outside edges of the middle are the regular up and down functions for the head and foot portions of the base.
  • The light button in the middle of the remote controls the under-bed lighting. This is a really nice feature for when you need to get out of bed at night and don't want to disturb your sleep partner by turning on an overhead light.
  • The QuietModeâ„¢ button allows you to raise the head portion of the base to a height that helps alleviate snoring.
  • The TV button raises the head section of the base to a height that makes it ideal for watching television in bed. This feature is also programmable by you so you can get into your perfect position for watching your favorite shows while in bed.
  • The ‘Zero-G’ button positions your body in such a way that it simulates being weightless. The idea is to relieve pressure from your back while putting you in the most ideal position to help you fall asleep faster.
  • The 'star' button is programmable to your favorite position. Once you figure out exactly where you like the adjustable base to be while you sleep you can set that position on this button.  That way, the next time you get into bed you can hit one button rather than adjusting everything again.

Adjustable Height Legs

Sealy Ease Adjustable Legs

The legs for the Tempur Ergo Extend base come in three-inch increments, meaning that the base can be from 8" to 17" off the floor.  This is a great feature because everybody is of different heights so this caters to people of all heights.

The best part is that the legs automatically come with the base so you can adjust the height later on if you want it lower to the floor or higher up, it meets your needs no matter what.

PerfectSeatâ„¢

Tempur-Ergo Extend PerfectSeatâ„¢

The Tempur-Ergo Extend has an added function called PerfectSeatâ„¢ which offers additional lumbar support and creates a more natural seating position for people who spend more time in bed.  This feature is very valuable to those people who are required to lie in bed more due to medical issues.

What happens is the head portion and the foot portion of the base separate and extend to create a seating position that is comfortable and supportive allowing you to lie in bed for longer periods of time.

The Benefits of Having an Adjustable Base

The benefits of having a Tempur-Ergo Extend Adjustable Base are greater than just having a regular power base. Because this model is the highest-end model available from Tempur-Sealy it has loads of features not found on other bases. An adjustable base will obviously give you added comfort with the ability to raise and lower your head and legs. This power base also gives you four-zone massage, two USB ports on either side of the base, QuietModeâ„¢ to reduce snoring, and PerfectSeatâ„¢. The PerfectSeatâ„¢ feature is a great feature for those people who are bedbound with an illness. It lets you sit in bed in a more natural position helping to relieve pressure points associated with lying in bed too long. The features this base has to offer are long and I could talk about them for a long time. The bottom line for the benefits that you get from the Ergo Extend is the most comfortable features available in a power base and assistance with medical issues.

The Sealy business was founded in 1881 in the town of Sealy, Texas when Daniel Haynes, a cotton gin builder, filled a request for a cotton-filled mattress.  Tempur Sealy International Inc. Conclusion

The Tempur-Ergo Extend Smart Adjustable base is the highest-end model offered by Tempur-Sealy. This is definitely a luxury power base with the features offered. While the price for one of these bases is much higher than almost every other adjustable base available, you do get the most features. Plus, the durability it has cannot be ignored, the frame is under warranty for 25 years and it's weight-rated up to 800-pound capacity.

The Ergo Extend Base represents the finest that Tempur-Sealy has to offer in terms of comfort and luxury from an adjustable base. Customers who reviewed this base have all rated it five out of five stars. They've left comments like "I love the massage feature", and "great for post-surgery recovery". It's true that the Tempur-Ergo Extend has features that can ease some medical conditions. People with arthritis, back issues, muscular diseases, and acid reflux can benefit from the PerfectSeatâ„¢ feature. Being able to sit up in bed in a more natural position is an invaluable feature for those who stay in bed for extended periods of time. My favorite feature is the Sleep Coaching which summarizes each night's sleep with an overall score and a comprehensive picture of your different sleep positions. One feature that I really like is the Pillow Tilt. It tilts the pillow just a little so you can see the TV better or read in bed in a sitting position that feels natural.

You ask, 'do you recommend this adjustable base?', the answer is a resounding yes, I would recommend the Tempur Ergo Extend adjustable base to anyone who can afford it. The luxury and comfort features cannot be compared with any other base. Its ability to help people with medical issues is quite amazing, as well. I like this power base very much and I wish that I could buy one for myself!
